Cyc () is the world's longest-lived artificial intelligence project.[citation needed] Cycorp's central mission is to assemble a comprehensive ontology and knowledge base that spans the basic concepts and "rules of thumb" about how the world works. Broadly, they want to capture common sense knowledge, focusing on implicit knowledge that other AI platforms may take for granted.
